White Supremacists Are Foolish

Every now and again I am reminded that there really are people that have not evolved their thinking beyond the 19th century, people that think God only created white people. They like to remind us by trying to assassinate a presidential candidate because they are black. Yes, another plot was foiled, though I doubt much work had to be done to uncover it as these types are usually unintelligent in areas that branch beyond their prejudices. Good luck fellas, I'm sure you'll make friends in prison.

I remember the ignorant behavior and speech that my family witnessed when we traveled to Mississippi for the annual family reunion when my dad was alive. I wish that I could say that the prejudicial behavior was limited to the older folks.

I often cringe Scott when folks speak of our Judeo-Christian heritage.. I would just as soon say that we have a religious heritage and not correlate Christianity to our country. Some of the founders may have been believers but their influence was surely not there when they did not address the slavery issue early on.

Sigh.. sorry for the rant.. these white supremacists just remind me of the racial unrest in our nation.

This is getting quite the press today. I wonder if there was this much press coverage on President Bush's assassination plot back in June.....................

A quick search of my local paper, and I found one article. Hmmm, I guess a black Presidential candidate is more important...ahem...news worthy... than an actual white sitting President.

I wonder how they play out the white extremists as we know of Obama's ties to other extremists, both in his church and the anti-isreal extremists.
As to Slavery, Bob you should have been there Thursday night as we discussed the biblical references to slavery in the bible. For example, I have always wrestled with the text, no wait, I save this for a blog post.

Yeah.. I had this bad intestinal flu and canceled at the last minute.. I hated missing Thursday and Sunday.. started feeling better yesterday.

About slavery and the bible.. I think that the subject comes under the umbrella of things that God's lets happen because of the hardness of man's heart.

We were specifically speaking about whether you should remain a slave or rebel. The new testament offers instruction to remain obedient to your master. it is hard to think about that, but I think I figured it out.

Sounds like a great discussion Scott.. as long as we are not talking about using the bible to legitimize slavery in America.

definitely not. It is about how I had to find in the bible how God deals with the evils of slavery instead of condoning it.
