Obama Defends Healthcare: 1st Casualty Grandma

Today, Obama defended his healthcare plan. When asked to defend provisions that would end care for the elderly, Obama said two things that very clearly articulate for me where Obama stands spiritually as well as his position on life. First, somebody asked about whether a person’s will to live matters. Obama’s response was that spiritual matters will not be factored in. Apparently, Obama has now set aside the first amendment entirely. Your Christian convictions will not factor into your health. Later, on the hot topic of elderly care, he went on to say that it might be better to take a pain pill than to provide life saving care. Just in case you haven’t seen a person pass away in a hospital, a pain pill is how one is eased into death. For Obama, pain pill is a code word for euthanize. Now I know why drug companies support Obamacare. The stand to benefit from providing pain pills instead of surgeries. This has to be the most shocking thing I have ever heard any leader in this country take seriously. Usually this kind of extremism is reserved for the fringe of the parties, but what did anyone expect when they elected one of these to the white house.

Are you saying that you do not support hospice types of care for the dying? That kind of care usually involves keeping the patient comfortable in their last hours. I think that I am not understanding what you are saying.

Hospice is different from forced hospice. Obama is removing the will to live and the skill and ability to make that happen and force one into an early hospice. That is what I am against. Here grandma, your quality of life is pretty diminished and you can't get that knee surgery. How bout you take some pain medicine and stop thinking about it.

Hadn't understood that forced hospice is in the current proposals. Actually thought I heard him dispute that in the town hall.. but I just caught a few sound bites.

I heard the words come right out of our presidents mouth. It was so callous to life. Why would you be surprised. This is the man that supports late term abortion. What is the difference. As a prolifer, that life is just as valuable as senior life.

We have gone beyond trusting this man or giving him a chance. This is a battle as important as stopping abortion. History has shown us what this mentality can produce. If you devalue life at the ends of the spectrum, and government is in charge of determining the spectrum, the ends get larger and more encompassing as government sees fit to redefine it.
