Why Sean Hannity is Dangerous To Conservatives

Here is why Sean Hannity is dangerous, Newt Gingrich, John McCain, Rudy Guliani, Trent Lott…. These regular guests on the Hannity show are given street credit from their appearances. But Hannity has so many democrat pundits on his show. The difference, when he has these conservative-light Republicans on his show, he treats them as friendlies. The listener is unable to see the contrast that is so clear when he has the democrat guest on. Why this is dangerous is that these men, different from RINOs, present a conservative façade, and may actually have conservative credentials, but they are proven to sell out their conservatives principles in favor of the party or other motives. Newt Gingrich is the primary offender. Not only did he favor the ultra liberal scozzafava in New York’s 23rd Congressional district, he has also been soft on climate change, partnering with Bill Clinton on this and other issues. In the words of the great Conservative-Light Presidents, George W. Bush, you are either with us or against us.

Update: As post script to this story, I recently heard a clip of Sean Hannity's interview with pageant winner, Carrie Prejan. It has come out recently that she filmed a provocative video of herself for her boyfriend at the time when she was 17, and he has now sold that video. I'm not going to throw her to the wolves here, but Sean was stumbling over himself to point out that there was no sex involved and that it somehow is not the moral equivelant to other similar tapes. Where he is destructive is by not upholding the standard. Sure she made a mistake and is not promoting the video, but don't excuse its existence.

I thought you liked listening to Sean?

I like listening him better than other things, but he is a horrible self promoter and too soft on guests he should be tougher on.

Sean is a conservative? Since when?

The sex tape involving Prejean has zero to do with her stance on gay marriage (incidentally, the same stance as our President), which is really what is at issue here.

There is no hypocracy as the idiotic left want or would have you believe.

There’s nothing hypocritical about a Christian sinning; the whole point of the faith is that people will inevitably sin, which is why redemption is needed. The problem is that it raises the possibility that she doesn’t take her faith all that seriously to begin with.

While we are all sinners, it is not making excuses for them that separates us from the left. While I sin, I don't just brush it off and say it isn't a big deal because we all do it. I know the real agenda is to destroy a woman that stood up against gay marraige. Do we do anything for our message by downplaying her sin. Sin is sin, whether homosexuality or pre-marital sex. I say to God and beat my chest as the tax collector did "I am a sinner, forgive me." Hannity is taking the pharisee approach.

Perhaps. But I don't think that is what Hannity was trying to say.

I think the point is that her making a "sex tape" at 17 and then giving it to her boyfriend (who then sells it years later), and stating marriage should be between a man and a women are TWO entirely different arguements.

She wasn't on some soap box preaching about virginity and not having sex until you are married. She was asked a question and answered it honestly.

I think the point is there was no hypocracy on her part, which the left was trying to portray.

It isn't on Carrie's side, it is on Sean's side. I listened to him downplay the significance of it. He was explaining it away for her, not carrie. That is what I didn't like about Sean. He makes excuses for Newt, and Trent, and George, and Rudy.

It sounds like it was on Sean - ? Carrie spoke at our church 8/30/09 and admitted she had done some bad things that people were holding against her. She admitted to being a sinner who needs a savior. She represents so many - but everytime she is on the news its scandal. Her Implants lawsuit, "sex tape" scandal (said CNN) - this is what media points to and trys to smear her testimony any way possible. Even with a great injustice to her, it seems they have plenty dirt to grab hold of. It make me think how we have to account for what we have done in the past.

Sean cannot undo all the damage media has placed on her in one interview. So perhaps he was expiditng things - at least in his own mind.

Yes, it is on sean. It is a pattern of behavior on his part. Also, right now Carrie is a lightning rod because she is trying to promote a book. She goes onto larry king and creates drama, and the interview is about a book. Why must somebody on the left write a book and then go on tour to liberal shows. It allows them to control the message and get a sound bite. We don't hear about Carrie coming to Jesus and repenting, we hear about her taking her mic off on Larry King. We must not allow them to control the message by not giving them sound bites on their own shows. I believe carrie is trying to cash in while she can, hence the book that I'm sure she wrote on legal paper. To beat them, we must not join them.

Let skilled debaters like ann coulter deal with liberals on their shows, not an unpolished Prejan.

"I believe carrie is trying to cash in while she can"

I agree ZB.. a good reminder why she is do these "interviews". I would do the same.. cash in while she can.. then maybe get a real job?
