LIES IN THE TEXTBOOKS: No Religion = Bad Religion

Back in grade school I recall an assignment of learning how to read the newspaper. We were to lookup the weather, sports, and then we were to write down our Horoscope. I can’t decide if our school was full of New Age, Agnostics or Atheists. Despite having a “Moment of Silence” in after watching the Challenger Explosion in 3rd Grade, there was no religion in school. I have always believed “The absence of religion is a religion, atheism”. So NOT teaching any religion in school meant that you were teaching the worst – how to be an atheist. (And sadly on a large scale, it worked out that way for many of my classmates.) There was a ton of projects regarding witches, ghosts, Yoga, ESP, and the like in my school days. All were okay because they were “non religious” activities (at least not until now).

After reading this article: Neo-Pagans Get Worship Circle at Air Force Academy I think It’s about time we can officially recognize Wiccans, Pagans, and Satanist as their own religion! They have scraped under the radar too long. When these Anti-Christians have a LABEL and are recognized then they will get a taste of their own political correctness. Halloween can be associated after Wiccan religion and FINALLY get kicked out of school.– I really would LOVE to eliminate Halloween, and perhaps we could also eliminate Valentine’s Day too? But I fear its too good to be true and someone will devise a double standard so Christians lose out. Not only do Christians have to suppress all their faith in public places, they have to tolerate all the other religions as they proudly taunt us.

This is great insight:

“The absence of religion is a religion, atheism”.

It reminds me of my thoughts when seeing the story about Mother Theresa stamp being protested becasue she is a "religious" figure. If you are not able to recognize anyone that has a faith (and really that means christian), the only people left are seculars. Thus, we have imposed a state religion of secularism.

What would happen if we could use reverse tactics previously used against Christians in the courts? To use these against secularism - or should we be silent martyrs?

I am all for having the freedom to follow the Spirit in any way that He leads us but IMO most of the political religious stuff out there is not kingdom stuff.. I could be wrong.

You have a point. Much doesn't really matter when held up to an eternal kingdom.

At High Grove I remember one year around Halloween. A few teachers got together to teach us safety awareness for the trick-or-treating everyone would be doing on that evening. Of course, we would need reflective tape to be seen by passing cars, we wouldn't want to eat any candy that looked tampered with, and we'd never go inside a stranger's house. (And we all know an adult would never have the strength to grab a child a pull him inside even if he resisted.) I digress...

Finally, the "training" took a different turn. We were told of dead animals often found after Halloween that had been sacrificed. How there were people who participated in rituals on that night, and even children could be in danger. How awful! And what a good thing they made us unknowing children aware of the dangers! With eyes open wide we were all lined up and led into a dimly lit room with paper bags on tables. "Reach in and see if you can guess what you're feeling." One bag- eyeballs of poor, unsuspecting animals! Another bag-we were touching tiny intestines! Bag after bag of police findings! And then, came the relief- as the teachers giggled, they said we could go through again, this time with the lights on and see what our imaginations had done to us. Grapes and spaghetti-silly kids! What a relief, it was all a joke. There would be no animals or small children sacrificed, there were no people who really practiced devil worship. There was only safely wrapped candy and reflective tape...because those dangers were really true.
